OAK BROOK, AFTER THE HOTEL BAR CLOSES

An Upscale Strip Club With a 4 AM Kitchen Near Oak Brook

Oak Brook is where a lot of business trips land. The hotels along 22nd Street, the offices near I-88, a dinner reservation at Oakbrook Center: it's a polished town built around the working day, and it goes quiet once the working day is done. If you're staying in one of those hotels, you know how the evening usually ends. Dinner, one drink at the lobby bar, and a long hallway back to your room. There's a better ending about 15 minutes northeast.

Start with the problem every hotel guest runs into: food. Hotel restaurants tend to close early, and room service rarely keeps going as late as you do. Our kitchen does. The Gold Room serves a full steakhouse menu until 4 AM, every night of the week. Order an 8oz filet mignon or a 16oz NY strip with a baked potato and asparagus, lemon butter chicken if you've had your fill of steak this trip, or mini filet sliders and wings to share. It's a proper sit-down meal at one in the morning, brought to wherever you're sitting.

Around that table is the reason the kitchen keeps those hours. Several stages stay lit until close, each with world-class entertainers; the bar pours everything from craft beer to champagne; and private dances are there whenever you want one-on-one attention while staying close to the energy of the room. The club is upscale and professionally run, and a guest on their own is as welcome as a table of ten.

Because it's close, the logistics stay simple. A rideshare from your hotel is a short trip each way, and if you'd rather take your own car, the lot on site has ample room. Weeknights start at 4 PM and weekends at 5, and every night runs until 5 AM, so a dinner meeting that runs long doesn't cost you the evening. The club is 21 and over, so pack your ID along with the room key, and leave the gym clothes and the ball cap upstairs: the dress code is smart casual.

Driving from Oak Brook

The simplest route skips the tollway. From Oakbrook Center or the hotels on 22nd Street, head north on York Road and turn right onto Butterfield Road (Route 56). Follow Butterfield east; just before Mannheim Road it becomes Washington Boulevard. Turn left (north) on Mannheim, go about a mile, and turn right onto Lake Street; you'll see The Gold Room on your left a moment later. It's roughly six miles and about 15 minutes at night. Navigation apps sometimes send you up the Tri-State instead, which takes about as long and adds a toll.
