NORTHBROOK: 19 MILES HERE, 24 TO THE LOOP

Closer Than the Loop: An Upscale Strip Club Near Northbrook

When a night out in Northbrook outgrows Northbrook, the reflex is to point the car at the city. Check the map first. From downtown Northbrook, the Loop is about 24 miles away, with city traffic and a parking garage at the end. The Gold Room is about 19 miles, about half of it one straight run down the Tri-State, and you park in our own lot.

The clock works out the same way. The drive takes about half an hour and the club doesn't close until 5 AM on any night of the week, so even leaving Northbrook at eleven gets you here with most of the night still ahead. For an early start, it opens at 4 PM Monday through Friday and 5 PM on weekends.

On a half-hour drive it pays to check the events page before you leave. Special events and themed parties go up there as they're announced, and there's no fixed theme night, so the flyer is the only way to know what a given night holds before you commit to the Tri-State. A regular night needs no planning at all: world-class entertainers on several stages until close.

For a milestone birthday, a reunion, or a night with friends who don't get out as often as they used to, a VIP table with a dedicated host gives the group one home base for the night, and the number to set it up is (708) 375-1111. The kitchen runs until 4 AM, so nobody has to squeeze in dinner before the drive down.

Everyone needs ID showing they're 21 or older, and the dress code is smart casual, which rules out athletic wear and hats. New to the club? Text GOLD to 404404 before you get on the Tri-State, and a free-entry pass will be on your phone when you arrive. It isn't valid for special events.

From Northbrook, Take the Tri-State South

From downtown Northbrook, take Shermer Road to Willow Road and head west to the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Go south about nine miles and take the exit for Irving Park Road (Route 19) West, then turn left onto Mannheim Road and follow it south about four miles. Turn left onto Lake Street and look to your left: the club is right there, just past Mannheim. Plan on about 30 minutes; the Tri-State is a tollway, so have your I-PASS or E-ZPass with you.
